Joss Whedon Confirms Quicksilver & Scarlet Witch For AVENGERS 2

In an interview with IGN, director Joss Whedon has confirmed the rumor that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will be joining the team in the upcoming Avengers sequel. The siblings duo (Magneto is their father) first appeared in the ‘X-Men’ comics in 1964 and have made appearances in ‘Avenger’ story lines over the years. Whedon said: You know, they had a rough beginning. They’re interesting to me because they sort of represent the part of the world that wouldn’t necessarily agree with The Avengers. So they’re not there to make things easier. I’m not putting any characters in the movie that will make things easier. Quicksilver...

Marvel’s AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. First Trailer

Here’s the first full-length trailer for ABC’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘ that will take the phenomenally successful Marvel Studios universe to network television. Clark Gregg reprises his role from The Avengers as Agent Phil Coulson (even though he was killed off) who assembles a new team of Agents to tackle the cases that haven’t been classified yet. With Joss Whedon having directed the pilot, Coulson’s team consists of straight arrow agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), an expert in combat and espionage; pilot and martial artist Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen); brilliant if socially awkward scientists Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth...

Clark Gregg Offers Some Updates On ‘Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.’

Attending the Tribeca Film Festival to promote his own sophomore directorial effort titled Trust Me, the multihyphenate Clark Gregg spoke about his return as Agent Phil Coulson in Marvel’s ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’. The actor discusses Phil Coulson’s return from the dead, but the method of Coulson’s return is going to remain a mystery: I don’t know how you could not change going through what he went through. I think if he hadn’t gone through some kind of change, it wouldn’t be any good. That said, I don’t know if he understands how much he’s changed. However, fans won’t be disappointed: When Joss described to me...

Tom Hiddleston In Talks For THE CROW Reboot

Here’s another word from The Wrap: The Avengers star Tom Hiddleston may be switching from villain to hero as he’s in early talks to play Eric Draven, the protagonist played by Brandon Lee in the 1994 cult movie The Crow. Spanish filmmaker F. Javier Guttierez has been long-attached to direct Relativity Media’s reimagining of 1989 James O’ Barr‘s gothic comic character The Crow. Warrior’s Cliff Dorfman is working on the script with production planned to start in the fall, but it’s not clear whether that’s a fresh take or a rewrite of the earlier draft by Jesse Wigutow. British actor has already met with producers...

Marvel Plans PLANET HULK Movie

Planet Hulk

Well, here’s what Marvel supposedly has planned for the Hulk in The Avengers 2 and The Avengers 3 movies, as well as plans for a new stand-alone Hulk movie based on a popular Hulk comic book 2006 story Planet Hulk.

We already learned that sequels to Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers are slated for release over the next two years — Marvel’s Phase Two, as well as new properties Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange and Ant-Man.

Word comes from Latino Review about the future of the Hulk. Spoiler alert!

Earth’s mightiest heroes see Hulk as being too big of a threat and liability, so they launch him into space at the end of The Avengers 2. He crashes on to an alien planet, becomes a gladiator, and then a hero.

But that’s not even the coolest part as the source also says that Planet Hulk will be used as a set up for The Avengers 3, which would use the World War Hulk arc and have Hulk return to Earth with some of his new alien friends, hungry for revenge — a group called Illuminati composed of Doctor Strange, Black Bolt, Charles Xavier, Reed Richards, Namor and Iron Man himself.

Don’t forget that Mark Ruffalo has signed on for a six-picture deal with Marvel and it is doubtful that he’ll be happy to just appear in post-credits or cameos for the rest of his career.

The Top 10 Films Of 2012

Top 10 - Box Office Mojo

Let’s leave the story that making a ‘Top 10’ lists may not bring order on the subject of challenges of contemporary cinematography and let’s focus on the box office revenue in a systematic, algorithmic way provided by Box Office Mojo website.

Perhapse, the grade could guide you to read the full review, and then to the movie whether you liked it or not. Here’s the list of Top 10 taken from ‘Total Grosses of all Movies Released in 2012 – Viewing Chart as of Dec. 29, 2012.’

1. The Avengers, Buena Vista, $623 million

2. The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros., $448 million

3. The Hunger Games, Lionsgate, $408 million

4. Skyfall, Sony/Columbia, $285 million

5. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, Summit Entertainment, $283 million

6. The Amazing Spider-Man, Sony/Columbia, $262 million

7. Brave, Buena Vista, $237 million

8. Ted, Universal, $218 million

9. Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted, Paramount, $216 million

10. Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, Universal, $214 million

The Avengers also broke record and grossed $200.3 million its first weekend as well as The Hobbitt: An Unexpected Journey (No.11 – $189 million) which raked in an estimated $84.8 million in its opening weekend for the highest December debut ever.

Skyfall is also one of most successful Bond movies ever.

Les Miserables and Django Unchained cap Christmas Day record sales at box office – the big-screen musical led sales with an estimated $17.5 million on its opening day, while Tarantino’s slave revenge fantasy Western coming in second at the box office with $14 million for its opening.

Hollywood was still able to attract audiences with quality films including some originals like Ted, new stars, like Channing Tatum and Jennifer Lawrence, and a more improved in-theater experience, with the rise of Imax, according to Hollywood.com’s box-office analyst Paul Dergarabedian.

Dergarabedian also said:

Starting with The Hunger Games and Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax in March, the box office has been on a roll. The end of summer was a bit slow, as was the start of fall, but everything kicked in with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, Skyfall, Lincoln (No.22). There have been some really cool films this year too, like Snow White and the Huntsman (No.15) and Brave.

I’m really sorry that films like The Master, Seven Psychopaths, Zero Dark Thirty, Silver Linings Playbook and so forth, failed to make the cut on the list.
